Women’s Freeride & Yoga Camp

March 23, 2010

From the 19 to 21 March 7 ladies attended my Women’s Freeride & Yoga Camp of the Kästle Adventure Tours in Lech am Arlberg. The camp covered improving technical off-piste skiing skills, video analysis, freeride tactics, line selection and jumping technique. Participants also enjoyed two Yoga sessions to stretch and mobilise weary limbs from a full day of skiing, something you don’t usually do at home but would really enjoy.

Of course, the perfect ski equipment was also provided to the ladies, who were able to test Kästle’s range of off-piste skis, including the FX94 model coming out next season. Both the 166cm and 176cm length, 94mm underfoot, were super popular.

Linecamp with Flo Örley

January 11, 2009

I spent the last 2 days in Fieberbrunn at Flo Örley’s Linecamp which was fantastic. The camp included learning how to pick a line and visualize it, getting to know the Freeride World Tour judging criteria, as well as video analysis. One of the hardest things about competing and filming for that matter is picking a line and inverting the picture in your mind – i.e. visualizing how the line looks like from the top. So I know exactly what I have to practice in time for the comps this year!

Women’s Freeride & Yoga Camp a Great Success!

December 21, 2008

6 women joined our Women’s Freeride & Yoga program and they loved every minute of it! We started our days with a activating yoga session from 7 to 8 am, followed by a hearty breakfast. After a full day on the mountain, a further yoga session before dinner ensured we were well stretched and relaxed for the next day. The combination of skiing and yoga is fantastic – I benefited from the early morning yoga especially as it helped warm up my knee before skiing. On the mountain the ladies not only improved their technical skills in powder, they also gained a lot of confidence and we had a ball. Click here for more info about the program.
